Edwards Plans to Win Lonsdale Strap Out Right

British and Commonwealth Flyweight champion Chris Edwards hopes to set up rematch with Shinny Bayaar, the last man to beat him claiming a split decision win over the current champion. 35 year old Edwards lost his British title to Bayaar back in October 2009 and regained it this past weekend in Liverpool against name sake Paul Edwards in a highly contested domestic battle.

Shinny is a mandatory fight and one Chris can’t wait for and plans to get his revenge when they meet again.
Edwards is now a 3 time British champion at two weights and only one British title away from winning the Lonsdale strap out right

Attaining the Lonsdale for keeps is first and foremost for Chris who says European honours can wait n they will come when they come. Chris Edwards certainly is not wasting any time and a run of rematches may be on the cards after Saturday’s win over Paul Edwards was promptly questioned “Will there be a rematch?”. I’m looking forward to seeing how this turns out for Chris and I would certainly welcome another Edwards v Edwards as I scored the fight a draw.
